Your Story Matters

 In The Spirit of Boudica is a planned series of collected stories of people who are survivors of a social plague that is the number one cause of death of pregnant women and has claimed more lives of women and children than soldiers who have died in battle post 9/11.

Queen Boudica was a remarkable leader by necessity, who lived in 60 A.D. in what is now the UK. She fought for the safety of her children and her people in the face of multiple imminent dangers, social injustices, and cultural limitations. She achieved remarkable success against staggering odds by rallying her “tribes” to defending their most vulnerable loved ones in response to cultural betrayal, violent insurgency, and abuse based on the the common heart-felt purpose of a mother’s love and united community. Sadly, these problems still exist in our “civilized” world today personally, legally, and systemically in our homes, communities around the globe, regardless of legal statues, with countless women and children still paying the price with their health, mental well-being, and lives.

It takes a unified approach to raise awareness and change something this pervasive. This true story is just the first in a series intended to inspire and “unite the tribes” to address the personal and systemic issues that allow this to continue and create the change necessary to end the physical, sexual, and emotional abuse of women and children that is recognized by the UN and continues to be one of the most pervasive, invasive, and preventable personal and legal human rights violations happening right in your own neighborhood…and if you’re one of those 5 in 10 people, your own home. 

Abuse is a far more pervasive pandemic than COVID.  It is a plague with ancient roots that continues…until we change it.
